So I had a complaint from my "new" follower and husband, Bryce. He wants to see a new post, but I'm at work and I can't add pictures, so this will be a pictureless post!
The last few days have been spent cleaning, organizing and trying to pick paint colors. Which has been not very successful. My very good friend Shawna and her boyfriend Bob are going to be here late tonight with plans of helping us paint this weekend. Unfortunately, I still haven't decided on a color for the living room/kitchen. I have been trying to find something in the tan/brown/taupe variety but everything I put up is either too dark, too yellow, too pink, too something. So tonight I will be trying some more colors. Our living room officially looks like a patchwork quilt on the walls. I will post some pictures of that later.
On a non-house related note, my mom came in and spent the night last night. She was flying off to Vegas this morning. So we got up early and I drove her to the airport so that we could have her truck this weekend for paint supply hauling purposes. And so that Bryce can feel cool driving her truck around :). Anyway...her flight is at 8:30, and in Spokane it is not necessary to get to the airport two hours early, so we get there at 7:10, she has plenty of time. As we get out of the car and start unloading she realizes she can't find her purse! I tell her to hurry and get back in and we speed away from the curb (okay that was a little dramatic). But I did speed all the way back to my house, no cops thank goodness! We ran in the door grabbed her purse off the dresser, yelled at the dogs who are now very angry that we have come home and are leaving again and ran back to the car. Now we are headed in the same direction as everybody else heading to work so it is slow going! But we managed to get back to the airport, mom jumped out of the moving vehicle (duck and roll) and ran to the ticket counter. I followed her with suitcase flying behind me, then in front, then behind me again. We threw the suitcase at the scale and the lady quickly checked her in. Apparently you only have up until 30 minutes before a flight is taking off to get on, we were there right at 8:00, just in time! They opened the plane back up and let her on! So she should be landing in Vegas any minute! It was a very stressful way to start the day but it all turned out well so yay!
This weekend will be a crazy weekend of painting, painting, painting and having some fun with Shawna and Bob!

Moving In!
We finally have internet at our house! Yay!
So it's been a very busy few days. On Saturday morning we were in Lewiston because I had to speak at a conference. We got back to Spokane around 2:00 and met mom at the house. She had our new washer and dryer that we bought from our friends Brodie and Tana. I am doing my first load of laundry right now! I never knew I would be so excited about laundry.
We then spent the evening packing up the house. We have so much stuff! Sunday morning Bryce's friend's Jesse, Sam and Tracy and cousin Erik joined us at 9:30 to help us move out of the old place and into the new!
Here are Bryce and Jesse moving the little mattress into the u-haul.
Here is our living room on the sidewalk. Behind it all is the little du-plex we moved out of. It was the first house that Bryce and I lived in together and it's also where Bryce proposed. It is so exciting to move into our own home but we had a lot of good times here, we have a lot of memories!
Here is the u-haul, only half full. By the time we were done this was totally full, the Jimmy was full, Tracy's Saturn was full, and mom's truck was full. Jesse's truck hauled the bedroom mirror.

Jesse taking a break in the recliner!

So now the pictures are out of order, but here is my very happy plant in front of the nice window. You can see that he hasn't been so happy at his last house, note the brown parts, but he is doing better already with all this light!

This is Bryce's very happy tool box, finally in a real garage! This was his Christmas present from me.

Here are pictures of the u-haul in front of the new house, whoo-hoo!

Just another angle of the u-haul.

Our first party in the new house! Bryce's parents brought us lunch, chicken and chips and salad, oh and some beer of course!

Here is mom getting the Master bedroom ready for a carpet cleaning. The carpets were so stained we were sure that we would have to replace them. But amazingly enough a rug doctor did a great job and the carpets look great. Still some stains, but clean stains at least!
Here is the living room full of our bedroom furniture.

Here are the mom's! Laurel is scrubbing the bathroom floor and my mom is scrubbing the stains in the carpet.

We spent our first night in the house on Sunday. I cleaned the carpets in both bedrooms on Sunday and had Monday off from work so I cleaned the hallway, stairs and living room. They all look much better. We finally feel like it is safe to walk around barefoot. Tuesday and Wednesday have been spent getting things cleaned up and trying to find things...very frustrating! We are not so good with the labeling thing!
This has been a long enough post, I will try to post again tomorrow with some pictures of the finished bedroom and our new refridgerator!

The master nearly done!
We got a lot more done last night. We finished painting the master and the closet, put in a new light fixture. Bryce caulked the tub and added the new sink in the bedroom, it still needs a faucet though. We have to go to Pullman tonight because I am speaking at a Teen Power convention tomorrow, but we will be back early afternoon to start packing! We are renting a moving truck on Sunday and several of our friends are going to come and help us move. I will be taking a break from the moving to go to a friends baby shower in Ione. It will be a very busy weekend! If I don't post over of the weekend I will be back on on Wednesday when we get internet at the new house! Have a great weekend everybody!

Painting!
Last night was another late night. We continued to clean and I painted the ceiling and this one wall in the master bedroom. Tonight a couple of friends are coming over to help me finish the paint job in this room!
Today I called the power company, water/sewer, garbage, recycling, cable and the post office. I think we are getting close to having all our important bills changed to our name. It feels so good to be getting so much done lately!

Working on the Bedroom
So of course my pictures posted in no particular order:
Here is Bryce replacing our locks and door handles!
The Master bedroom taped and plastic, the big green spot is the color that we are going to paint it. It's very brave of me to go with so much color!
Here are the before pictures of the Master bedroom.

I have been sick all week and finally last night I was feeling good! So we spent about 4 hours at the house last night, we didn't get to bed until midnight, which is VERY late for us! Bryce fixed the fence so the dogs got to play in the backyard for the first time, he changed the locks, put in a new sink, and took out the light fixtures in the Master bedroom. The house is looking so much better already! I mostly spent the night figuring out colors to paint the room and then taping it and laying down plastic. Today I hope to paint the ceiling and spackle the many holes in the wall. And then hopefully the rest of the painting will be done tomorrow!

Today the house is officially ours! The court is currently processing our papers and recording us as the new owners! We have been over there the last two nights cleaning, but now we can start to really get to work. We are planning to get the Master bedroom done this week because we are planning to move in on Sunday. That way we don't have to pay rent this month, whoo-hoo! We found a used washer and dryer to buy but we are still looking for a fridge and dishwasher, hopefully we can at least find a fridge this week, I think living out of coolers will be awfully challenging!
Apparently there was a death of a doll in this cupboard in the kitchen. Pretty creepy, Bryce had to vaccum it up.
They painted this vent green, we were very happy to discover that the paint peels right off and now it is white again, much better!
