We have been remodeling this house for almost 6 years (end of February is the official 6 year mark) and this is the last room in the whole house that we haven't touched. Since January is always our busiest month, I LOVE January house projects, it is of course time to get to work. But besides that we have another very big reason to get the move on with the house, we are getting ready to put it up for sale. We have a goal date of February 1st, but I would say realistically it will be sometime in February or early March. This goal has us working like crazy though and that is always a good thing! We started on January 1st ripping out the walls in the "blue room," each wall has different texture and several holes, plus there was a leak in the kitchen above sometime before we bought the house and the patch job was horrendous. This room is our first and only total gut job in the house. In the past 6 years the helpers around here have changed a bit too...
Since I'm not a ton of help in the sheet rock department (I did help haul it all in, that's enough for me!) I decided to tackle painting the cabinets in the bedroom and bathroom white to match the kitchen.
So many amazing helpers stopped by...for the whole day of sheet rocking!
I also touched up and painted the trim around the living room windows, so many things need touch up paint to really make them fresh and ready to sell!
Bryce is currently putting up the second coat of mud in the bedroom, thanks to MANY helpers we were able to rip out, sheet rock, mud and tape the entire room in just 4 days! WHOA! I got the cabinets painted too, just waiting on my new handles to arrive for the "after" picture. I also showed Lenorah that girls can use tools when I used the drill to put the cabinet doors back up, although I was proud to show her she can learn to use tools too, it's so much quicker and easier to let Bryce do it! Hehe!
