Dogs and Carpet

I believe I mentioned in a previous post that Thisbe has a scratching problem. We originally thought it was because she was eating paint and she was having an allergic reaction. But we haven't painted in a long time and she is still very itchy! She has lost the hair around her eyes and a couple of big patches on her neck. So we have been trying benadryl and a perscription from the vet. Over the weekend I was telling mom that I think it's something in the carpet, and she reminded me that I cleaned the carpets when we first moved in. I think we used so many chemicals that Thisbe is having an allergic reaction!

So this morning zerorez came in and cleaned our carpets. They do it totally chemical free and the carpets look amazing! If you need a carpet cleaner I have coupons! Hopefully this will work to keep Thisbe from scratching so much and losing her hair! Here are her and Rico enjoying the sun since they can't come in until the carpets are dry.

I also decided that since the furniture is all out of the way I would hang a couple more pictures and things. Here is one wall that I finished by the stairs. I'm still not sure about the stuff I hung up in the living room, which is why I'm not posting a pictures. The walls in there are very difficult since they are all so skinny and tall!

This weekend we are headed to Lincoln City for my Grandma Bernice's 85th birthday! It should be a great time, almost all the family is going to be there. We leave first thing in the morning, I'm sure I will have pictures to post next week!

Weekend in Ione

As always, we have been very busy lately, but haven't done a whole lot to the house. This last weekend we went to Ione, the first time since we bought the house! Paul left a bunch of stuff in a garage at our old place and since a gang member has moved in we decided to move it to his storage in Ione instead of letting it all get stolen.

While in Ione we also saw my friend Sara's new baby and saw Misty who is starting to look like she will have a baby. We also built fence, cleaned horses, and Bryce and mom split wood and burned stuff while I took a nap. It was a awesome weekend of getting things done and relaxing! We also have a lawnmower now, yay! So we can keep our weedy lawn mowed down.

And the really big thing is we got a truck! Mom let us "borrow" indefinitely her old yellow pick-up. It needs a little work but hopefully it won't be too much, and then we will have a great truck for hauling boards for our new fence and of course other things for household projects.

Last night Bryce started working on the molding in the hallway, he is getting very good at it! He is hoping to continue working on it tonight and tomorrow, hopefully we will get the living room done soon so that we can move outside, if the weather ever gets nice enough...

Craigslist find

So after our awesome Easter dinner I realized I have nowhere to keep my China. Not even an empty cupboard in the kitchen. So I started looking at China cabinets. I found some on-line that were corner hutches and the cheapest I found was $250. So I decided to take a quick look at craigslist and I found a nice looking oak corner hutch, which happens to match our dining room table from uncle Neil. I called the guy and he said someone had made a deposit on it already, but he would keep my number in case it fell through. Which is did!!! He called us yesterday and we got this awesome hutch for only $90. And as you can see it only took me about 10 minutes to decorate it with our China and other wedding memorabilia. I am so excited about it, I absolutely love it! And we had quite the adventure shoving it into the Jimmy, I had to ride home with my knees by my chest, but it fit. It was in post falls so we decided to go out to dinner in Coeur D'Alene and celebrate our 6 months of marriage anniversay (which is today!). So here she is:

Easter!

So I will start this post with pictures from our "Easter" colored room. If you can't tell, the walls are purple, along with the bedspread, and I have curtains too, they just aren't up yet! This is the first room to have all the trim up, yay! The closet doors still need painted, but somebody used magic marker on it so we may have to sand that off before paint will cover it.

Of course the pictures are out of order here, this is me cleaning up after Easter.

Here is my thin mint icecream cake that I made for Easter dinner.

Here is my only picture of everyone sitting down to eat. We had my mom and Grandma, Bryce's mom and dad and sister Bekah, my friend Deanna, and our new friends Stacey and Jeremy.

Here is my "Martha Stewart" table. Apparently it's very popular to mix and match place settings, which I had to do because we have six sets of China and 10 people! But it was cute!

Here is Grandma making an amazing fruit salad.

Another picture of the table set.

So we had an awesome first Holiday dinner at our house. We had so much fun with our family and friends! Maybe next time I will actually participate in the preparation of the meal instead of just drinking wine and talking to my friends! Thank you again to mom, mom2 and grandma for making sure we had food to eat! Okay so Bryce helped with the food too, but I did clean and set the table!

The weekend

It's Friday already and I haven't posted a thing all week! Don't get me wrong, we have been busy still, painting and organizing and putting up trim. Bryce is getting very good at it. I just haven't taken any pictures or had time to post anything!

We are having our first Holiday dinner at our house on Sunday for Easter. We will have my Mom and Grandma, hopefully Paul, Bryce's Mom and Dad and sister Bekah, and my friend Deanna. I am so excited about having everyone over, so of course we are trying to get some things done so that the house looks extra special and nice. We will get to put the big leaves in our table and get the China out for the first time, yay!

Clearly there will be pictures posted, and maybe even a few of the soon to be done bedroom. It's all painted and trimmed, I just want to get it all pretty before I take a picture to show to you all :)

Playing in Pullman

On Friday night while mom and I went to a bridal shower, Bryce finished putting trim up in the little bedroom. On Saturday we headed to Pullman where we finally had a nice spring day! Bryce's friends Ted and Krista and their parents were camping by the river so we went down there and let the dogs play in the water and we had some good camp food. We hurried back today and have spent the afternoon painting more trim. We are having Easter dinner at our house with both sides of the family so it is motivating us to get as much trim done as we can. Here are a bunch of pictures from our fun in Pullman!

Rico dug a big hole on this little island he found

Here's everybody sitting on the beach and enjoying the sun!

Thisbe trying to swim, Buddy showed her how but she was still nervous.

Buddy, Layla, Thisbe and Lucy all chasing the tennis ball

She's almost swimming!

It was so fun to go out and enjoy some long awaited sunshine. Now for a busy week of getting the house ready for our first holiday meal.

New lights!

So first the before pictures, this is the entry way light, I hated it. In fact I refused to clean it although it was very dusty and disgusting because if I cleaned it I was afraid it would never go away.

This is the kitchen light, okay it's kinda far away but it's the white thing next to Bryce's head.
Here is the beautiful new entry way light! (kinda blurry)

Here is Bryce finishing up by putting the light bulb in, he did put the whole light in as well.

And here is the beautiful new kitchen light.

Right over the kitchen table, yes it is very bright, we are going to have to get 40 watt bulbs, 6 60 watts is too much!

So a BIG thank you to Ted and Krista who gave us the gift card to buy the kitchen light and another bedroom light (same as in the master) and to Shawna and Bob for the gift card that bought the entry way light. If we didn't have such amazing friends we wouldn't have new lights yet, that's for sure! We are very lucky to have you all!
