I think I may have been in labor when I wrote that last post...apparently my very timely babies like to come on their due dates. Only 5% of babies do that, but apparently 100% of my babies do that. Our little girl is two weeks old today and every single day I look at her and want to bawl my eyes out because she is growing so fast and this second time around I know how fast it really goes and then they are two years old and playing cars at the kitchen table telling me all about the "gruck" and how the cars are "cashed."

Growing Babies

Being 40 weeeks pregnant...
Is so unfair when there are people all around me due days, even weeks after me, having their babies! Don't get me wrong, I'm an "all-natural" kind of girl when it comes to this pregnancy thing so I like that my babies stay in there until they are good and ready to come out. The biggest issue is really that my silly Dr. (whom I love!) told me two weeks ago that he predicted the baby would come in the next week...well that was last week and here we still are.
(38 1/2 weeks)
I feel like I can barely move, getting out of bed hurts so badly, I have to ease into walking. I now have to use the bathroom every 20 minutes and I almost didn't make it after a short walk that Bryce and I went on last night...I seriously considered just going because wetting my pants would be less painful than trying not too.
I have contractions all the time, but nothing that gets worse or closer together, apparently false labor is much more common in second pregnancies, oh joy. My back aches, I have to sit on the couch with a pillow behind me and as soon as I get comfortable Dietrich asks for something, so back up I lug my big ol' self. Thank goodness he has been taking awesome naps this week, so I am getting some much needed rest.
I can hardly eat now because there is so little room and food hardly sounds good anymore anyway. I have been trying to keep the house organized and clean for whenever baby (and my mom and grandma) arrive, but I'm over it now, thankfully Bryce has been very helpful with that!
I had a good cry yesterday, and had hoped maybe that's what I needed to get things going, but so far no luck. We are slowly moving into the part of pregnancy where everyone starts to worry, I will have to have a non-stress test on Thursday and then I am sure my Dr. will want to discuss a date for induction. I am pretty against the whole induction thing as long as it is possible to avoid, obviously if there is concern over my baby's safety I will take what I can get to get the little one here safely, but if I can avoid it, I'm going too.
Only 5% of babies are born on their due date, and Dietrich is one of those 5%. Tomorrow is this little ones due date, I'm hoping for another over-achiever and some really great odds!

Pillow Talk
Last night Bryce and I had this conversation:
Me: The Jehovah Witnesses came by again today.
Bryce: Oh
Me: yeah, we are good friends now. I don't mind talking to them, they're very nice, but I think they are going to try to convert me soon.
Bryce: Well, I do believe that is what they try to do.
Me: They usually just ask me a question and share a Bible verse and then leave. She brings someone different with her every time.
Bryce: The same person comes?
Me: Yeah, her name is Ann.
Bryce: (Laughing and shaking head)
Me: well she knows I'm Keely and that Dad is a Lutheran Minister, and last time she was here Dietrich broke his foot. I told her he's all healed up now. She taking notes on me isn't she?
Bryce: She's staking you out.
Me: But we can't convert, they don't do Birthdays!!!
Bryce: Well, you are going to have to be mean.
Me: I can't be mean!!! We will just have to convert I guess...

Double Oven Baby
We don't say this word much in our house, but this baby is MINE, all MINE MINE MINE!!!
You may recall that I have sort of kind of complained about the old stove, and if you don't remember you can find a refresher and a BEFORE picture in my letter to GE. You can also see a few promises I made to my husband on Valentine's day regarding a double oven. Not only was the old oven U-G-L-Y, it also had trouble maintaining the temperature, sometimes being a bit too hot resulting in a few burned items. And the burners, oh the burners, med-hi was the only setting that worked and you had to jiggle the burners for a bit before they would actually work. Well, apparently all my complaining paid off! My mom's man-friend Steve is a bit of a craigslist junkie and for no apparent reason he decided to look up double ovens this weekend. This was the only one he found. My mom called me right away saying I had to look into it, and although I was apprehensive because we don't really have the extra cash lying around, she convinced me.
I e-mailed and 20 minutes later I got a call back. An hour and a half later we were driving home with it in the back of the truck. A brand new oven exactly like this starts at $1300(+tax!), this one is 6 years old but was not used for 2 of those years and we got it for $375. Bryce had to do a bit of work, like cutting out some counter because the space wasn't big enough and wiring in his first 240 outlet since the previous oven was hard wired in. But he was wonderful and took a break from all his other projects to get this in for me last night. So far I have only made breakfast on it but I have spent pretty much the whole day staring at it, and it surprises me every time I walk through the room, it's so beautiful!
Clearly I am in love, and Bryce says he is glad that I have found a new lover :)

Friends and Fun
I think I bore this kid to death. He is such a social little guy and when we spend our whole day at home he just gets cranky and so do I...like today. He wants to play outside but it's cold and rainy and I'm tired and boring.

Valentine's Day
I have no problem with this Holiday that people either seem to LOVE or HATE with a passion. I have never sat in a bar throwing garbage at the couple next to me who are making out, I mean, seriously, who would DO that? Pretty much the holiday is fine, as long as you don't have high expectations. One time in high school I thought that perhaps my stoner boyfriend would remember he had a girlfriend on Valentine's Day and get me a little something. By product of being high all the time, you sometimes forget you have a girlfriend, by product of being VERY naive, I didn't realize he was high all the time until much later in life. Anyway...I get to school rip open my locker and NOTHING. But after first period I opened that locker and do you KNOW what was in it!? A dozen beautiful roses. I thought my boyfriend had a lobotomy or something. Then I read the card: "From the One guy you can always count on. Love DAD." I still have that little note tucked away. And so to my wonderful husband who shows me everyday he loves me by still cuddling with my gigantic body wearing a super HOT maternity support belt and probably yesterday's sweatpants, don't worry, you can NEVER top that Valentine's Day.
But just in case you wanted to give it a try, I would totally love a double oven. I know they tell you not to buy appliances and such for your wife/girlfriend for Valentine's Day, but you know I'm not that kind of girl, I want one of those oven's in a bad, bad way. I could be in the shower by now rather than waiting to put more cookies in the oven because I have to bake them one tray at a time. If you come home with one of those I will totally take off the HOT maternity belt, and put on fresh sweatpants, just for you ;).

Growing Belly
I haven't posted pictures of my growing belly in over 10 weeks so I figured it was about time to share a few more pictures. Here it is just before Christmas, at 24 weeks:
25 weeks, in my new clothes from my new favorite second hand maternity store:
28 weeks
30 weeks, the countdown is on!
And this week, 32 weeks!
